Common questions
When does the new puzzle appear?
At midnight where you are. The day's puzzle is the same for every player in the world, so it reaches different time zones at different times.
Why are some days harder than others?
Puzzles start gentle on Monday and get harder through the week, with the toughest at the weekend.
I missed a day. Can I still play it?
Yes. Every past daily puzzle is in the archive, and solving a missed day still counts toward your streak.
How do streaks work?
Your streak counts the days in a row whose puzzle you've solved. Hints and mistakes never break a streak; only a day left unsolved does. Your streak shows whether you used hints or made mistakes, if you like to keep score.
Can I play more than one puzzle a day?
Yes. You can start a new puzzle of any type whenever you like, separately from the daily puzzle.
Can a puzzle have more than one solution?
It shouldn't: every puzzle is built to have exactly one solution that you can reach by reasoning alone. If you find one with two solutions, or one that seems to need a guess, please email us with the date and puzzle type. That would be a bug, and we want to know.
I'm getting a new iPhone. Will my progress move with me?
Yes, if you set up the new iPhone from a backup of the old one (iCloud Backup or a computer backup). Progress is stored on your device, so it doesn't move between devices any other way yet.
Does the app sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Not yet. Each device keeps its own progress.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone with iOS [FILL IN: minimum version] or later.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. It's planned.
